ABOUT M Y INTER THEATRE COMPANY
M Y Inter Theatre is a not for profit company providing drama, music, vocal and movement sessions every week and performance opportunities in theatres and performance spaces across the county.
We work inclusively with people with and without physical and learning disabilities and are user lead.
We have been lucky enough to perform for royalty and be part of the BAFTA winning film Marvellous, shown on BBC TV. In the past we have worked with local schools, colleges and care homes and collaborated in the community with the Lions, MAC Club, and P.H.A.B to name but a few. Our stages have included Ford Green Hall, The Victoria Hall, The Regent Theatre, Lichfield Garrick, The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Lichfield Cathedral and a big top tent.
HUMANUS - THE STORY
We began working on a series of horror and sci fi related short stories early in 2017. Some of these were self created and some were based on specific genres and films. All of them were written by our members. As we developed and improvised these tales, we also drew them together into a bigger narrative.
This has resulted in a quirky, muti-facited hybrid of horror, comedy, romance and musical. Whilst being hard to define, and still organically evolving, even as we start filming, the story follows two policemen, D S Royal and his sidekick P C Troy.
Both are on the trail of a grisly murder, which leads them to a psychic, Madam Belle, a mad scientist and his assistant, Igor, and a very strange waiting room in limbo that's filling up fast. Along the way they meet the beautiful Priscilla, the love struck Molly and Parker and the enigmatic sisters, Gabrielle and Artemesia. Somehow, all of these characters are inexplicably tied to a growing catalogue of macabre deaths, but who is decapitating who?
You'll scream your head off finding out!
We are very lucky to have been joined by some special guest actors, including Neil Nello Baldwin (from Marvellous) Josh Roberts (from The Detectives) Mark Olly (from Lost Treasures) and Andrew Gough (from Forbidden History)
We also have a Stoke based professional film crew lead by John Williams (Crispy's Curse, Mothertown and The Slayers)
This project is unique in that it is made by and stars people with disabilities. It will, of course, raise the profile of both the participants and area itself through accompanying publicity. We already have American Film Company Reality Entertainment on board, and with their links into the major end of the film industry we anticipate that Humanus will therefore be high profile, both regionally and nationally and thus bring a lot of benefit to the people of the area through united accomplishment and sense of pride.
